Racial, Religious, Cultural Diversity No Obstacle To Unity - Musa

KOTA MARUDU: The racial, cultural and religious diversity which have long existed in Sabah are no obstacles to the locals to be united, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

In fact, he said, the unity in diversity enjoyed by the people of Sabah was the result of mutual respect, understanding and a high level of tolerance which had been a part of the culture of the people.

"In Sabah, it is obvious that although we are made up of various communities and religions, what is important is that we are able to cooperate, be united and more importantly, respect and help each other.

"This is our way in Sabah, that we respect all cultures and races, and celebrate the spirit of oneness. With this, we have a stable, peaceful and harmonious environment," he said.

Musa was speaking at the launch of the Sabah Rungus Cultural Festival 2017 organised by the Pertubuhan Rungus Bersatu Sabah in Kampung Teringai Laut here today.

Also present were the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili and Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
